 A little more about me.

Sarah is currently obtaining her Masters Degree in Architecture at The University of Washington’s College of Built Environments. Her area of focus within the Built Environment is on Healthcare Architecture and Planning. Of particular interest to her is the increasing trend of utilizing Evidence-Based Design (EBD) and other research methods to create healthier built environments that are not only theoretical, but result-based. Her senior thesis was centered around the EBD informed redesign of a 36-bed standard inpatient unit floor at Seattle Washington’s Virginia Mason Medical Center. The redesign utilizes EBD in tandem with the recent AIA publication by J. Todd Robinson and Misty Chambers which is the first of its kind to detail a “Hierarchy of Needs  Supporting Human-Centered Design” in healthcare, in order to create a design proposal for increasing inpatient social connectivity , support and overall well-being. To learn more in regards to this research or her professional career in general  feel free to contact Sarah at the email or phone number provided.
